Michael Carpenter’s Switch Creative has a look all its own. With roots in the DIY cutout band flyers that are increasingly being replaced by promotion on the web, Carpenter’s signature style involves the careful balance of color, space, and form. The posters and flyers under his belt are pretty stunning, but Carpenter’s work has expanded into packaging, corporate branding, and the web. Even after years of Switch’s expanding popularity attracting clients all over the world, Carpenter stays loyal to Memphis, drawing inspiration from the bottomless well of soul.
